On August 13-15 Golfers from New Mexico, Colorado, Texas and Oklahoma will be teeing off for The Raton International Golf Tournament. The International in its 12th year is the Raton Golf Course biggest tournament of the year.
Tournament Director and Club manager Dave Swanson expects over 100 golfers for the 3 day event which kicks off on August 13 at 1 p.m. with a Scotch Skins. The International which uses the Modified Stable Scoring Format, where teams are awarded +5 for an eagle, +2 birdie, 0 par, -1 bogey and -2 for double bogey or worse. The winner is determined by the team with the most accumulated + points.
All 3 team players must have a Certified GHIN Handicap and Club affiliation is required. Players without a handicap can provide an attesting letter from their club Pro. There is a maximum 8 stroke difference between each team member.
