Raton Regional Aquatic Center: Not Just for Swimming!

Located in the center of Raton’s one hundred acre Roundhouse Memorial Park, the Raton Regional Aquatic Center is a state-of-the-art indoor, year around, aquatic recreation and fitness facility.  The 9,500 square foot facility also houses the offices for the City of Raton’s Department of Parks and Recreation and is the hub for current and future recreation programming and facilities.  Opened to the public on Memorial Day weekend 2011, the Raton Regional Aquatic Center is the culmination of over a decade of planning and preparation. 

Take a dive, enjoy the climbing wall, or try the 360⁰ enclosed tube slide. The 176,000 gallon heated pool is equipped with these fun features along with three 25 meter lap lanes, a vortex (whirlpool) pool, water basketball hoops, a kiddie pool with train slide, and a variety of bubblers, jets, and fountains.  The center also has a concession area and party/multi-purpose room available for rent for birthday parties, reunions and special occasions during normal operating hours.  The entire Aquatic Center is also available for rent for private parties on Sundays or Saturdays before normal hours of operation.

The center offers a variety of passes and memberships to accommodate the various needs of the surrounding communities.  Available passes include:  1 month, 3 month, 6 month and 1 year for individuals, families, and senior/students.  The center also offers a 20-visit Punch Pass.  Punch Passes are transferable, do not expire, and provide a discounted rate from the $3 General Admission fee.  Aqua Zumba and Water aerobics classes are also available for a fee. 

The facility is open seven days a week with varying weekday hours depending on the time of year.

 
Beginning Monday, Aug 20th the Aquatic Center off-season hours of operation will be as follows:

 MONDAY-FRIDAY

• 6am-9:30am Lap Swim, Senior Swim and Adult Exercise
• 3:30pm-5:30pm Open Swim/After School program
• 5:30pm-6:30pm Lap swim/Adult exercise,
• 6:30pm Doors Closed

 SATURDAY

• 1:00pm-6:00pm Open Swim
• 6:00pm Doors Closed

 SUNDAY

• 1:00pm-5:00pm Open Swim
• 5:00pm Doors Closed

 The Aquatic Center can be accessed by the newly paved Round House Rd off of Sugarite Ave (Raton Builder’s Supply/RBS is on the corner).
