Master of The Mountain
This September City of Raton Parks and Recreation, in partnership with the NRA Whittington Center and the Sugarite Canyon State Park, will usher in a new breed of ADVENTURE RACE.
Master of the Mountains Adventure Relay challenges everyone across the country to come and prove they truly are the MASTER of the Mountains. Run through the rugged terrain of Sugarite Canyon State Park in Northeastern New Mexico, paddle a course on Lake Maloya at 7,500 feet, bike through the high plains along the Santa Fe Trail, and prove your prowess on a tactical shotgun shooting course at a remote location of the National Rifle Association Whittington Center. Top it all of with MOMfest 2013, your awards banquet New Mexican style: green chile, beer, and live music on Historic 1st Street.
