"Bear Buffet" Closing

The City of Raton, in cooperation with the State of New Mexico’s Department of Game and Fish, will be acquiring 50 new bear poof trash receptacles. Receptacles will vary in size and will begin to replace the current bear accessible dumpsters. It is anticipated that the new dumpsters will decrease the bear activity in town and reduce the amount of trash in the alleys and streets.
