The City of Raton is proud to announce the hiring of Terry Sisneros as Chief of Police.

City Manager Welcomes New Police Chief

Mr. Sisneros is a career veteran of the Raton Police Department and has been acting as Interim Police Chief since the departure of long-time Chief Vince Mares.

Chief Sisneros is a 1980 graduate of Raton High School and possesses an Associates Degree in Criminial Justice from Trinidad State Junior College.  With the Raton Police Department Chief Sisneros has been a supervising officer since 1989. 

City Manager, P.J. Mileta offers the following statement:  "Mr. Sisneros is a true team player and as Interim Police Chief has proven to me his interest is in the betterment of Raton.  I believe Terry will bring to the community an ability to establish partnerships beneficial to all of our citizens.  I am convinced he has the respect of the law enforcement community as well as the court system and has the personality and desire to establish the Raton Police Department amongst the best in the state and region."

Mr. Mileta adds, "We are entering some challenging times as a community and having an understanding of where we have been, where we are now and translating that into a vision for the future is critical.  With Chief Sisneros I am confident we can develop that vision for the Raton Police Department for years to come.  Terry has his work cut out but I believe he has the skills and personnel in place to move us forward."
