City Discontinues Roll-Off Trash Dumpsters

Example of a roll-off container

Starting January 17th, 2009, the City of Raton will no longer be providing the solid waste roll-off containers for trash disposal on 1st Street or near the City Warehouse off of Grant Ave.

The last day to deposit any trash in a roll-off container is Friday, the 16th of January, 2009.

After Friday, January 16, 2009, all trash will have to be placed legally in a city-owned dumpster or taken to the city landfill. City residents, with proof of residency will have all fees waived at the landfill upon delivery Monday through Saturday.

Once again, the City of Raton encourages you to place all trash in the city-owned dumpsters. Any trash, including yard debris, tree trimmings, old appliances, old furniture, and miscellaneous items that do not fit in the dumpsters should be hauled off to the city landfill. Contractors and residents of the ETZ area around are reminded to purchase $5 vouchers at Raton Water Works for disposal at the Raton Landfill.

Thank you for your cooperation in maintaining a clean and beautiful community.
