RATON PUBLIC SERVICE (GENERAL MANAGER)

The City of Raton, New Mexico, population of 6800 is seeking applications for the position of Raton Public Service Company General Manager. Salary range will be from $70,000 to $80,000 annually plus benefits. Position is appointed by and reports directly to the Board of Directors. Raton Public Service Company is a municipally owned electric utility which includes existing 7 megawatts gas-fired generation. RPS has annual revenues of approximately $7,000,000 and currently employs 19 people. Position requires a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field and a minimum of six years professional and/or administrative experience that includes the operation and maintenance of generation units. Three years of experience must have been in a supervisory capacity. Strong communication skills are a must as well as financial and budgeting skills.
